临空港经开区在武汉三大开发区中,人才工作起步较晚,但区委区政府对人才工作高度重视,启动了人才政策、人才服务、人才载体平台三大领域的建设工作。区长、区委人才工作领导小组组长刘子清提出,要把人才工作作为打造临空经济的全新课题,要充分发挥好高端人才智力支撑作用,实现后发赶超。2013年开发区地区生产总值接近500亿元大关,全口径财政收入完成165亿元,均位列武汉市行政区第一,成为名符其实的后起之秀。
