我叫秦伯涛,来自北京顺义区牛栏山一中。今天,能在这里怀着对华爷爷无限的崇敬之情,代表所有参加过“华杯赛”的同学发言,我感到十分荣幸。我出生在农村,从小接受那里的教育,条件比较差。但我很喜欢数学,热衷于琢磨问题。上小学五年级时,我参加了数学课外小组,因为只有六年级才有数学组,所以我就跟他们一起听课。由于相差了一个年级,开始我有些跟不上,就泄了气。一次偶然的机会,我看到一本中国科学家的传记,其中有一章写得是华爷爷。读罢他的事迹,我心潮澎湃,不能自己。我想:华爷爷在缀学在家的逆境中,依然自强不息、奋发进取,我受到的这一点点小挫折,又算得了什么。于是我上课认真听讲,下课主动找练习题。经过我不懈的努力,自己的水平终于赶上来了。期末时进行了几次考试,我在所有五、六年级的同学中总分排第一。上六年级后,我又参加了不少数学竞赛,取得了较好的成绩,并代表北京去香港参加了一次亚太地区的小学生数学竞赛,荣获一等奖。
My name is Qin Botao and I am from Niulanshan, Shunyi District, Beijing. Today, I am honored to be here with the infinite reverence of my grandfather to China and to speak on behalf of all my classmates who participated in the “China Cup”. I was born in the countryside, I received education there, conditions are poor. But I like mathematics very much, keen on pondering the problem. When I was in fifth grade, I took part in the maths extracurricular group because I had maths classes only in the sixth grade, so I went with them. Due to a difference of a grade, I started some can not keep up, it was bleak. By chance, I saw a biography of a Chinese scientist, including a chapter written by Grandpa Hua. Reading his story, I am surging, not myself. I think: Grandpa Hua is adhering to the adversity of being at home while still enjoying self-improvement and making achievements. What kind of little setback I was subjected to and what I was given. So I seriously listen to class, take the initiative to find exercises after class. After my unremitting efforts, my level finally catch up. There were several exams at the end of the exam, and I ranked first in all grade 5 and 6 students. After the sixth grade, I attended a number of math competitions and achieved good results. On behalf of Beijing, I went to Hong Kong to attend the primary school mathematics competition in the Asia Pacific region and won the first prize.
