The Consumer Electronics Association of America (CEA) DTV Interface Branch recently passed a new standard, the EIA / CEA-861A, which was developed by CEA’s R-4.8 Engineering Group (Working Party 7) and established through digital video Interface (DVI) and OpenLDI video interface specification to send digital video signals. The new standard is fully backward compatible with the EIA / CEA-861 standard approved in November 2000. The original standard 861 to high definition television (HDTV) and enhanced definition television (EDTV) video formats and requirements added to DVI1.0.
