劳伦斯·韦努蒂是当今既精于翻译理论研究,又擅长文学翻译实践的著名学者之一。他主张翻译不应该以消除异族特征为目标,而应该在目标文本中设法把文化差异表现出来,这就是一种解构主义的思想。韦努蒂把解构主义的翻译思想付诸实施,他所提出的反对殖民主义的翻译观和英美民族中心主义和帝国主义文化价值观,以及认为翻译原则和方法应该“存异”而非“求同”。在对韦努蒂的翻译思想有所了解的基础上,对他独特翻译思想的影响因素进行了研究,希望能对后来者对韦努蒂翻译理论研究提供参考。
Lawrence Venuti is one of the most famous scholars who are both good at translation studies and good at literary translation. He argued that translation should not aim at eliminating alien traits but instead should try to show cultural differences in the target text. This is a deconstructionist idea. Venuti put the deconstructionist translation idea into practice, and he put forward the anti-colonialist view of translating and Anglo-American ethnocentrism and imperialist cultural values, as well as believing that the principles and methods of translation should be “different” rather than “ Seeking the same ”. Based on the understanding of Venuti’s translation thoughts, this article studies the influencing factors of his unique translation thoughts, hoping to provide reference for later study of Venuti’s translation theory.
