从在富连成科班同是叶春善师父的学生来论,马连良先生是我的师兄;从郝寿臣老师那里论,我称他一声“师叔”;从艺术而论,他是我的前辈。他给我留下最深的印象就是他的革新精神。我在没入科以前,就爱看马先生的戏,我特别喜爱他的戏分外的整齐严谨,从内容到形象都显露出一个“新”字。入科以后,更是喜爱他的艺术,他与郝老合作演出的戏,我总是想方设法争取去观摩,学了郝老的艺术创造,又从马先生的演唱中汲取艺术营养和改革精神,以充实自己。
From Mr. Fu Chun-sheng, who is also a master student of Ye Chun-shan, Mr. Ma Liangliang is my elder brother. From Mr. Hao Shoushen’s point of view, I called him a “teacher’s tutor”; from an artistic point of view, he was my predecessor. His deepest impression on me is his innovative spirit. Before I was enrolled in the department, I loved to see Mr. Ma’s play. I particularly liked his drama, which was exceptionally neat and tidy. From the content to the image, a “new” character was revealed. After entering the course, he even loved his art. When he co-starred with Hao Lao, I always tried my best to strive to observe, learn the artistic creation of Hao Lao, learned the art nutrition and reform spirit from Ma’s concert, To enrich themselves.
