Professor Anthony Saich, a famous expert on Chinese issues, is the director of the China Issues Research Center at Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He served as Ford Foundation Representative in China from 1994 to 1999. During his time in China, he traveled throughout the vast urban and rural areas in China, leaving behind the footprints of his investigations from the prosperous and modern urban areas to the extremely poor and backward rural areas. In March of this year, while studying at Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, I asked Professor Sage to talk about his own views on the reform of China’s grassroots political system that he cares about. □ on behalf of the editor, ○ on behalf of Professor Saatchi.
