The Agriculture Department of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region announced that starting from January 1, 2002, the entire region will ban all kinds of formula fertilizer with chloride ion content exceeding 1%. The various types of formula fertilizers that have been banned from exceeding the standard of chlorine ions in Xinjiang are designed to ensure the sustainability of Xinjiang’s characteristic cash crops.
