Youth World recently published an article compiled by Hu Wei, introducing some changes in the notion of a youth in contemporary Western Europe: There are significant differences in contemporary youth compared with the noisy activists of the 1970s. The main desire of young people who now have ties and chic skirts is to earn high marks in school and soon after graduation enter the once neglected commercial workforce. They are no longer as young people in the sixties and seventies see themselves as the essence of society, ready to manage the world in their own way. Western European youth are now less interested in politics and regain attention to family and married life.
