朱砂叶螨等棉花叶螨(棉红蜘蛛)复合种是长江流域主要棉虫之一。1982年在湖北省江汉棉区天门沙洋四农场和鄂北岗地棉区襄阳襄北农场进行的棉叶螨种群动态及为害损失研究的初步结果:①两地棉叶螨发生量属轻发生年,全年均出现三个高峰,降雨量及其强度对棉叶螨种群影响较大;②定义 Logistic 微分方程参数 r 值为棉叶螨田间水平扩散速度,分析了其扩散过程并指出其扩散除受物理环境和中心虫源株影响外还存在“密度制约”;③棉叶螨在棉株上前期中、下部卵螨量居多,后期上、中、下部位趋于平衡;④天敌对棉叶螨种群影响不大;⑤若、成螨量与为害指数关系显著(P<0.05或P<0.01);⑥统计分析结果表明:棉花苗期、蕾花期和花铃期接螨均对棉花产量品质有影响,其中尤以苗期接螨对棉花产量影响严重。
