With the vigorous development of Tianjin’s economy and further opening up to the outside world, foreign financial institutions have entered Tianjin. Before the end of 1992, the city only two foreign banks, namely: Standard Chartered Bank of England and BNP Paribas. By the end of 1996, there were 13 foreign-funded banks in our city, an increase of 11 over 1992.
