The seller of an option contract, the issuer, is obliged to sell or buy such financial assets when the buyer demands performance. As the cost of obtaining such a right, the buyer of the option needs to pay the seller of the option a sum of money in cash, which is the price of the option contract, which is the premium (also known as premium or insurance premium).
