Fujii Lazy Zhai (1617-1709), Kyoto, Japan is the representative of the early Edo period of Confucianism. His books are many, of which the most famous is “The Book of Filial Piety” three volumes. The book is based on China’s “Filial Piety Biography”, written in Chinese, recorded the deeds of more than 70 Japanese dutiful son, became the best-selling book. In addition, in Lazai’s work, the more famous one is the second volume of “Two Ceremonies”. The book, based on Zhu Xi’s “Family Courtesy,” discusses the issue of funerals and sacrifices in Japanese in an effort to promote Confucian etiquette in Japan. It is noteworthy that lazy vegetarian together with scholars such as Nakamura Tetsuya, Masao Kawai, Miyake Gonggezhai, Mi Chuanxuan, Masuda Lixuan and others formed the Zhu Xi school in Kyoto, who all conducted in-depth study and put into practice the Confucian funeral rituals, This is a feature that I can not see from Ito Renzo who is active at the same time. Lazy Zhai in the “two ceremony”, the most concern is the “ After the death of their parents, children should adopt what kind of funeral and worship the most appropriate ” issue. This is a painstaking work, because Lai Zhai to deal with is the reality of tension between Confucianism and Japan’s national conditions, he wanted to adapt to this tension, and thus promote the practice of Confucian rituals. It can be said that “Er Li Tong Lan” is an important work combining the viewpoint of “filial piety” in the Edo Period with the practice of Confucian funeral rituals.
