Expressionism is one of the most important modern art genres. Expressionism emphasizes the performance of artists’ subjective feelings and feelings of themselves, which lead to a trend of exaggeration, distortion and even bizarre treatment of objective forms. They often express the artist’s fear and emotions through distortion and abstraction of reality. Therefore, it is extremely rare for the main body to be cheerful in expressionism. Edvard Munch (1863-1944) is one of the representatives of expressionism. His work Shout is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. He shows very strong feelings of anxiety and fear in his heart . Through the discussion of expressionism and “shout”, the author briefly expounds the superficial opinions of individuals.
