本刊早在1984年发刊词中就已明确规定办刊宗旨:坚持四项基本原则,坚持理论联系实际、普及与提高相结合的方针,努力倡导和促进自然科学工作者与社会科学工作者的联盟,提倡学术民主、百家争鸣,积极推动自然辩证法、科技史和科学学的研究、宣传与应用,为四化建设服务。迄今,六个春秋转瞬即逝,在此期间,我们正是本着上述宗旨办刊的,且经受了种种考验。今后,我们仍将遵循这一宗旨,努力作出应有的贡献。
