This article describes an economic approach that is suitable for immunization of large-scale rabies in developing countries. The authors randomized 133 healthy volunteers who had not been vaccinated against rabies into two groups. Group 1 81 were injected intradermally with purified chicken embryo cell rabies vaccine (PCEC) (7 IU / ml) by injecting 0.1 ml vaccine on each of the two upper deltoid regions on days 0, 3 and 7, 90 days in any upper arm deltoid area injection of 0.1ml vaccine. The second group of 52, intradermally injected with PCEC, also injected intramuscularly with rabid immunoglobulin (HRIG) 20 IU / kg body weight on day 0. Blood was collected on days 0, 7, 14, 28, 90, 180 and 365, respectively, and neutralizing antibodies (NABs) were detected by a rapid immunofluorescence staining inhibition assay.
