小苍兰新品种是用~(60)Co—γ射线处理育成的淡黄色小苍兰新类型和经辐射处理选育出抗病性强的5个小苍兰品种为亲本,在此基础上采用品种间杂交与辐射处理相结合的方法,从杂交后代中选择优良植株,经多次筛选,现已育成小苍兰新品种5个。经连续4年生产性多点栽培试验证明,小苍兰新品种具有花色新颖、花茎高而挺直、花径大、花期长、抗病性和生长势强、不易退化等特点。小苍兰新品种生产的切花,也已出口创汇。
