近年来,现场可编程门阵列FPGA(Field Programble GateArray)很风行,它属于编程逻辑器件。编程逻辑器件具有将软件编程和硬件制作相结合的特点。 FPGA是高集成度的半导体集成电路,其容量最多可达二万多门。它本身没有任何逻辑功能,通过编程,使之具有用户所要求的逻辑功能和外管脚分配,这些编程数据不是存储在FPGA芯片中的.而是存储在与FPGA配套使用的外部存储器中,如EPROM。
