Objective To investigate the effects of bisphenol A (BPA) and fructose alone or in combination on food intake, water intake and body weight of male rats during early development. Methods Fifty Wistar male rats were randomly divided into five groups according to body weight: control group, 13% fructose group, 20% fructose group, BPA (1μg / ml) group and BPA ) + Fructose (13%) group, 10 in each group, 3 ~ 4 per cage. Using free drinking water for exposure, continuous exposure for 8 weeks, freshly prepared drinking water every day. The food intake, water intake and body weight of rats in each group were determined, and the energy and protein intake were calculated. Results Compared with the control group, the food intake and protein intake of rats in 13% fructose group and 20% fructose group were significantly decreased (P <0.05), and those in 13% fructose group and BPA + fructose group were significantly The water intake of rats increased significantly, and the total caloric intake also increased significantly (P <0.05). The difference between the water intake and total caloric intake of rats in 20% fructose group and BPA group was statistically significant (P> 0.05). The water intake and total energy intake of BPA + fructose group were significantly higher than that of BPA group (P <0.05). During the experiment, there was no significant difference in body weight between experimental groups and control group (P> 0.05). Conclusion Exposure of 1μg / ml BPA and 13% fructose alone or in combination has no significant effect on the body weight of developing male rats. The food intake and water intake of rats in the combined exposure group are consistent with that of the 13% fructose group and are not affected by BPA.
