国家人口计生委号召全国计生干部争做“新时期最可爱的人”,这对广大计生战线的工作人员提出了很高的标准。它要求计生干部不仅要具备较高的政治思想觉悟和政策理论水平,还应具备广博的知识与高尚的情操,进一步强化在困难面前勇为人先、在享乐面前甘为人后,不计得失,乐于奉献的精神,以及为我国的人口与计生事业鞠躬尽瘁、死而后已的崇高品质。安徽省阜阳市计生委主任董坤不久前创作的三首小诗,生动地展现了战斗在计生前沿的广大干部的无私胸怀和崇高境界:
