Compared with the ordinary vernier caliper, electronic digital caliper indication (reading) value is much smaller. This paper studies the indication error of the recently produced electronic digital caliper and its relationship with the shape error. The measured error is compared with the allowable deviation of the regulation, and the suggestion of supplementing and perfecting the current standard is put forward accordingly. 1 Introduction According to DIN862 standard, the measuring range is within 200mm, with a cursor or a circular scale (indicated) caliper, the allowable indication deviation is ± 0.04mm. This rule applies to calipers with graduations or vernier readings of 0.1 and 0.05 mm. New electricity
