为了落实毛主席“以(?)为纲,全面发展”的方针,江西省上饶五府山国营综合垦殖场,1967年从辽宁省旅大市引进“红玉”、“祝光”、“红元帅”、“黄元帅”等12个品种的苹果树1万株,并在马头山营造408亩苹果园。经过6年精心管理,目前树势健壮,1972年已有930株开始结果,果实的色、香、味、形均具有原品种的特征。
