Difference between English and Chinese syntactic structure is the major difficulty faced by English learners. This paper focuses on the English and Chinese syntactic structure from a macroscopic perspective. It is hoped that this paper can help language learners gain a better insight of peculiarities of English and Chinese, so they can be conscious of the dissimilarities in order to avoid committing mistakes in translation.
