物理化学分析简称物化分析,是研究平衡物系的性质与组成的关系,并以化学图的形式表达出来,分析图中各种几何元素(点、线、面、体)的分布和变化,籍以判断体系中所发生的各种物理化学行为的学科。相平衡的研究和相图分析又是物化分析中最主要,应用得最为广泛,成就也最为显著的一部分。“物理化学分析”一词自从苏联学者库尔纳柯夫(Н.С.Карнаков,1860—1941)于1913年提出以来已经70多年了。在这以前人们曾积累了大量的资料,70多年来又得到蓬勃发展。其应用范围涉及到化学、化工、冶金、地质、物理、生物、盐业、建材等各个领域。
