1999年11月,中美两国就中国加入WTO的问题在北京达成原则性协议。此后,中国在今年的头三个月又与欧洲多国达成双边协议,为中国在今年加入WTO创造了前景。今天,海峡两岸都已来到了世界贸易组织的门口。时光在飞逝,人们在期待。尽管经济结构、市场形态并不相同,但两岸面对WTO的心情却很相似。不过,中外观察家们都认为,这是两岸共同的新商机。
In November 1999, China and the United States reached a principled agreement on China’s accession to the WTO in Beijing. Since then, China has reached bilateral agreements with many European countries in the first three months of this year, setting the stage for China to join the WTO this year. Today, both sides of the Taiwan Strait have come to the door of the World Trade Organization. Time flies, people are looking forward to. Although the economic structure and market patterns are not the same, the mood of the two sides facing the WTO is very similar. However, both Chinese and foreign observers believe that this is a new business opportunity common to both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
