小蘖(土佥)为国产黄连中之主要成分,是一种生物(土佥),近年来曾有人研究,证明该药能杀死葡萄球菌、痢疾杆菌、伤塞杆菌、大肠杆菌结核杆菌。目前有关黄连治疗细菌性痢疾已有报告,黄柏小蘖(土佥)治疗沙门氏猪霍乱一例报告。最近我们曾用小蘖(土佥)治疗伤寒四例,痢疾十余例已获满意效果,并治疗大叶性肺炎一例效果显著,目前有关该药治疗大叶性肺炎病例尚未见报告,因此报告本病例,以供今后进一步发扬祖国医学,以中药代替抗生素,共同观察研究。
