后现代主义是困扰当代中国艺术创作的一个问题,同时又是一个不能回避的问题。后现代主义在中国产生了正面和反面两种明显的影响。正面的影响是使人们从一元论模式或二元论模式中走出来,领会了多元氛围的重要性以及个体选择的合法性。在后现代氛围中,一个人不可能去干涉或训导他人的选择,而只能通过对话达到沟通与理解,然后逐渐走向某种价值认同。同时,求同存异,保持个体思想的独立性。这无疑使得一切改造人、制约人、牵制人的自由思想的那种话语丧失合法性。但是,后现代主义由于将消解僵化之物作为它的存在方式,而且具体施加在文化的解构策略上,使得后现代主义精神又有扩大化之嫌。即将它的价值虚无主义置于整个文化精神上,使得文化游戏主义、文化游击主义、文化冒险主义风行一时,尤其是粗俗的、暴力的、虚无的文化观颇为流行。可以说,后现代艺术吸收了“空无”的思想,价值“平面”的非深度的思想,从而形成自己的独特的“欲望——平面——边缘”的思想特质和艺术形态,而回避价值的追求和意义的呈现。为了更好地理解后现代艺术,我们邀请了北京大学文艺理论专业的著名学者、博士生导师王岳川教授及其博士生、硕士生做了一次关于后现代艺术的笔谈。
Postmodernism is a problem plaguing the contemporary Chinese art creation, meanwhile it is an unavoidable question. Postmodernism has had two distinct positive and negative effects in China. The positive impact is to get people out of the monism or dualism paradigm, understanding the importance of pluralism and the legitimacy of individual choices. In a postmodern atmosphere, it is impossible for a person to interfere in or discipline other people’s choices. Instead, he can only communicate and understand through dialogue and then gradually move towards some kind of value identity. At the same time, seek common ground while reserving differences and maintain the independence of individual thoughts. This will undoubtedly legitimize the kind of discourse that renders the free thought of the person, the restraint and the restraint. However, since postmodernism dissolves inflexible things as its mode of existence and concretely imposes on the strategy of cultural deconstruction, postmodernism is suspected of being magnified again. That is, to put its value Nihilism on the whole cultural spirit, making the popular cultural games, cultural guerrillativism and cultural adventurism prevail, especially vulgar, violent and nothingness. It can be said that postmodern art absorbs the thought of “nothingness” and the non-depth thought of “planeness” of value so as to form its own unique “desire-plane-edge” ideological qualities and artistic forms, but avoid the value The pursuit and meaning of the show. In order to better understand the postmodern art, we invited Professor Wang Yuechuan, a famous scholar and doctoral supervisor in the field of literature and art theory at Peking University, and his PhD students and masters to make a written talk on postmodern art.
