Regarding the effect of ethanol on gestational cytogenetics, experimental studies in animal models were conducted. Mature females aged 10 to 40 weeks after birth were challenged with 0%, 10%, 20%, 40% ethanol and solid feed for the first four weeks of gestation and during pregnancy to determine their intakes. Opposite plug observed as 0.5 days after pregnancy, pregnancy 10.5 days after laparotomy to obtain fetuses, direct method of making chromosomal specimens, double-fold method for analysis.
