随着矿山生产的发展和科学技术的进步,矿山测量向工程型转化是矿山测量事业发展的必然。即矿山测量职能除着重现代测绘仪器在矿山生产中的研究应用外,将由单一纯工程服务型向工程服务决策型转化,矿山测量工作者的素质应由专门人才向一专多能及工程型扩展。矿区经济要可持续发展,必然要求交通运输、工业、农业及相关领域可持续发展,必然带来矿区采动,地表建设如厂房、高速公路、楼群建筑等新的疑难问题,采矿工程、矿山测量工程、岩土工程相结合来解决这类新型边缘问题势在必行,矿业可持续发展过程必然是矿山测量工程化发展过程,也是多学科穿插重新组合形成新门类学科的过程。矿山测量工作者将在矿山边坡工程、矿山地压控制,开采沉陷及采矿地表建设、岩石动力学问题等发挥较重要的决策职能。
