Pinus massoniana is one of the fast growing and main timber species in South China. It is widely distributed and produces a wide range of genetic variation in the long process of phylogeny, forming various types of geography. Therefore, the classification and evaluation of the geographical provenance of Pinus massoniana is one of the important bases for selecting good provenance sources. Since 1979, our province has participated in the National Masson Pine Breeding and Reproductive Cooperation Group, and has successively organized 5 provenances of Pinus massoniana.
