电化教育,也叫视听教育,从发展的角度就其本质而言,是一种正在形成的新型教育方式。它最基本的特征是运用电声、电光、电控等现代技术。具体说来,指在教育、教学过程中,使用幻灯、电影、广播、录象、语言实验室、程序教学机、电子计算机等现代教育技术媒体,实现把声、形、色结合起来,并借以直观地揭示事物的本质和内在联系的教学技术。目的是最大限度地提高教育质量,扩大教育规模,以适应科学技术的发展,满足社会对教育提出的更高要求。它的产生和发展必将给教育带来巨大的变革。
