The all permanent ECR(Electron Cyclotron Resonance)ion source LAPECR2 is the largest all per- manent magnet ECR ion source in the world.This ion source was designed and fabricated at IMP to pro- duce intense high charge state ion beams for the 320 kV HV platform.The source was successfully mount- ed on the platform and connected with the ion beam transmission line in the middle of year 2005.After one year’s continuous conditioning and commissioning,some promising results have been obtained.
