清代宋荦(1634～1713年)任江苏巡抚期间(1692间1705年),衙门里经常出入一个画家,他就是柳遇。柳遇字仙期,吴县(今苏州)人,生卒年不详。善人物写真,山水、树石、界画楼台皆缜密巧构,亦工花鸟。宋荦以地方大吏耽于书画鉴赏和收藏,他的藏品一任柳遇观摩,对柳遇开阔眼界和提高画艺起了不小的作用。宋荦很赞赏柳遇的绘画,曾请他摹绘南唐顾闳中所画的《韩熙载夜宴图》,柳遇慨然应允.不多时摹卷告成,经相对
