不久前,把“山花”1958年全年发表的小说重新浏览了一遍,兴之所至,又读完了今年的一、二期。这几十篇作品,绝大部分都是好的,尽管成就各有大小,内容有浅有深,但大都生动感人,有着一定的教育意义。更可喜的是,其中已出现了较突出的优秀之作。这些作品是“高炉边的彝家”、“钢铁之家”、“血”、“茫茫草地”、“生期”、“黄花之歌”、“疤”、“通车前的喜剧”。这个名单,应该说是很不完全的,而这篇短文的目的,也只是打算在漫谈这几篇小说的基础上,本着精益求精,更上一层楼,并与作者共同商榷的精神,提出一些问题和看法,并争取小说创作的更大丰收和跃进。
