《宋史·沈括传》说,“括博学,善文,于天文、方志、律历、音乐、医药、卜算,无所不通,皆有所论著。”李约瑟说,沈括是“中国科学史中最奇特的人物”。列宁称沈括为中国11世纪“两个伟大的人物”之一。人们崇敬他,纪念他。在镇江梦溪园遗址,重建了沈括当年生活过的梦溪园。“梦溪”两个石刻的大字,是沈括的手迹。那巍然站立的沈括塑像,青衣便髻,左手托着陨石,右手抚展卷面,默默地探究着,永不停息地深思着……沈括还活着,活在梦溪园里,活在科学技术飞跃发展的长河里,活在中华儿女的心坎里。
