南桐煤矿位于重庆市南桐矿区,煤系地层为二迭系龙潭煤组.该矿现有三个生产井,设计能力共计75万吨,其中一井为该矿具有岩爆危险的矿井,二井也有很少的岩爆现象.一井的设计能力为30万吨.该井田共有六个煤层,其中1、2、3号层为极薄不可采煤层,4、5、6号层为可采煤层,可采总厚度约5米.煤层倾角15～55°(平均30～40°).煤系底部的茅口灰岩和四、五号层之间的矽质灰岩均为具有岩爆倾向的岩层.煤系情况如图1.
