南京地震台始建于1931年,早称南京北极阁地震台。它是我国自己设计、自己建造和管理的最早两座地震台之一。半个世纪以来,南京地震台历经战事创伤、台址变迁、人员更替,但在热爱祖国地震事业的老一辈地震学家的艰苦努力下,其观测资料除在抗战内迁过程中暂时中断外,基本连续。它为我国地震事业作出了一定的贡献。今年七月一日恰逢该台正式投入观测五十周年纪念日。为促进地震科学的发展,交流
