The ultimate goal of mine design is to use one or more options to identify the development work and resources required. Part of this process is the preparation of the mining production plan or design and the forecast of the expected benefits. The purpose is to validate all aspects of mine design using a computerized model. For continuous ore bodies, these models enable the design and economic analysis of one or more stopes.
