The new method of determining the reasonable shape of the open pit side mines was described. The possibility of using the computer design procedure to test the new method of determining the side shape of the deep pit mines was used in the side-curtain design of the Mulunlun open-pit mine. The national patent proves that this new method can be applied to the design of deep open pit and ultra deep open pit mine.
