M192轻型三脚架是美军计划用以取代现役M122/122A1三脚架的最新产品。M192三脚架主要供M249 5.56mm班用机枪和M240B 7.62mm通用机枪使用,结构设计巧妙,可快速安装,折叠携行方便。系统质量仅为5.2kg.比M122轻了约3kg,这是一个很大的进步,M192三脚架还因此获得了美军“2005年度十佳军事创新技术”提名。据悉,M192三脚架的生产厂商通用TN公司获得了总价值4390万美元生产合同的第一笔760万美元资金,要求在2011年8月前完成交货,但具体生产数量不详。图中美军士兵使用配备M192三脚架的机枪为最新型号的M240E6通用机枪,机匣采用钛合金制造,全枪质量得以进一步减轻。不过这种改进成本较高,即使是财大气粗的美军估计也难以全面普及。
