成年人的骨骼每3年就会全部再生一次。人的一生中,骨骼的新陈代谢会经历三个阶段:成长期,骨骼的形成大于溶解,骨密度呈上升趋势,并达到峰值;成熟期,骨骼的形成与溶解日趋平衡,骨密度开始平稳下降;衰老期,骨骼中的钙质较快流失,骨密度陡然下降,极易出现骨质疏松症。影响骨质疏松症风险的两大因素是骨骼发育期的骨量水平(峰值骨量)和生命后期骨丢失的速率。随着年龄的增长,骨丢失发生前骨量越高,发生骨折的可能性就越小。

With age, the higher the amount of bone before bone loss occurs, the less likely it is to have a fracture.
