这是保罗在面筐突破时最常用的一招。众所周之,黄蜂队最典型的进攻战术就是挡拆。通常由泰森·钱德勒或者大卫·韦斯特拉到高位,为保罗做掩护,然后韦德持球纵向切入。而每到这时候,错位防守韦德的也就换成对方阵中的大个子球员。如果保罗直接去攻击篮筐,那么对方便可以跟着他一直到篮下,在保罗行将出手之时利用高度优势进行封盖。所以保罗便练就了这一招侧打漂移,以突破过程中的姿态变化来避敌锋芒。由于“漂”得够远,所以除了德怀特·霍华德那样的家伙以外,还真的很少有人能防住保罗这一招。
