1881年以来,由于俄国恶劣的政治、经济环境和不断的反犹浪潮,促使犹太人的生活日益陷入困境,而美国社会所提供的机会、平等和自由吸引大批东欧犹太人移民美国。在与美国主体文化交流的过程中,以犹太教为核心的犹太文化与以基督教为主的美国主体文化之间不断冲突和融合,形成了独特的美国犹太文化,塑造出了兼顾犹太文化传统和美国现代文化的双重文化认同。
Since 1881, the deteriorating political and economic environment in Russia and the constant wave of anti-Semitism have pushed the Jewish life into an increasingly difficult situation. The opportunities, equality and freedom provided by the American society have attracted a large number of Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe to the United States. In the process of cultural exchange with the main American, the constant conflict and integration between the Jewish culture centered on Judaism and the main Christian culture in the United States formed a unique American Jewish culture and created a harmonious relationship between Jewish cultural tradition and the United States Dual Cultural Identity of Modern Culture.
