本书谱写了一章关于环太平洋国家和地区同西方国家在近代实现交往的序曲。说“序曲”,是因为本书尚未包括所有环太平洋的国家和地区,例如位于大洋洲的国家和沿太平洋的拉美国家还有待研究,但这并不丝毫减少本书的重要性。从更深层次的意义看,本书对于一个极其广阔和重要的区域,从一个方面,即从文化方面,进行开拓性的研究,并总括了过去长达400多年的历史,这本身就是一个值得称赞的壮举。环太平洋区域,特别是东亚地区,在当今国际关系中的重要性更加突出。如今世界信息交通惊人发展,经济国际化与商品经济全球化空前发达,随着时光的推移,环太平洋区域的重要性更会不断增长。由此即可透视本书重大价值之所在。
This book compiles a prelude to the modernizing contacts between the Pacific Rim countries and regions and Western countries. To say “Overture” is because this book has not yet included all the Pacific Rim countries. For example, the countries in Oceania and Latin American countries along the Pacific Ocean have yet to be studied. However, this does not diminish the significance of this book. In a deeper sense, this book is a laudable study of an extremely broad and important region, from one aspect, namely, a pioneering study of culture, and a general overview of the past 400 years of history Feat. The Pacific Rim, especially in East Asia, is even more prominent in today’s international relations. Nowadays the world has witnessed an alarming increase in the information and communications industry. The economic globalization and the globalization of the commodity economy have become more developed. With the passage of time, the importance of the Pacific Rim will continue to grow. This will reveal the great value of the book.
