将连续铸造和轧钢设备直接组成作业线,即由钢液一举扎成轧材,这是钢铁工业界多年来的愿望。但是,目前使用的连铸机,由于其铸造速度太慢,不仅和轧机的生产能力不相适应,而且轧制时铸坯温度低,所以不能实现连铸连轧。为此,进行了轮一带式高速连铸机的研究。试验用的设备由铸造断面为160/190×130毫米钢坯的轮一带式连铸机和立轧、粗轧的两台轧机直接配置构成。以6米/分速度铸造和直接轧制获得成功。这样,为实现包括精轧机在内的连铸连轧工艺,大大前进了一步。
