The members of the American Association of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBBI) (the “National Association”) voted to amend the provisions of the by-laws relating to Authorized Inspectors (AIs). The definition of authorized examiner in the by-laws is replaced by the following: Authorized examiner - Inspector appointed by authorized inspection agency. The officer shall hold a valid Certificate of Competency and the “A” signature commissioned certificate issued by the National Association and shall be employed by an authorized inspection agency responsible for its actions. National Association commissioned the definition of the certificate was changed to: National Association commissioned the certificate - issued by the National Association to the inspection staff certificate. These inspectors hold the certificate of competency and carry out the inspection, maintenance and modification tests according to the inspection regulations of the National Association, and are employed by the district authorities or authorized inspection agencies for a long time.
