象草为亚热带地区适应性广的高产牧草。在牧草饲料中干草产量突出,并含有较高的营养物质。一般奶牛场自建的饲料基地有限,如在一定面积内收获高产象草,再配合精料饲养对发展乳牛业将有重要作用。现就国内发展象草近况,简要介绍如下。一、我国南方种植象草饲料效益显著广东省宝安县光明农场多年来建立起以象草为主的饲料基地。效益显著。该场所产鲜奶含脂率和非脂乳固体,都达到国际标准,并占香港鲜奶市场的70％,是国内最大的鲜奶生产农场。
