The Multipurpose Internet Mail Standard (MIME) protocol of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) makes it possible to conduct multimedia email communications in different types of computer environments. Network users want to exchange multimedia as they would with word processing, spreadsheets, and other files Email instead of ASCII code, MIME was originally used as a protocol for exchanging multiparty / multi-media information on the Internet without losing structure or formatting data, but commercial e-mail products are now being used in conjunction with corporate computer networks. This article also discusses the development and use of MIME, MIME support for existing web and email systems, future developments and applications, and security issues.
