Acute myocardial infarction is associated with functional changes in the sympathetic nervous system. Sympathetic nervous system activity can affect the mortality and morbidity of acute myocardial infarction. Study of patients with acute myocardial infarction and found that urinary catecholamines can be increased several times. Animal experiments found that in a few minutes after coronary occlusion, plasma catecholamines increased. Recently it has also been found that beta-blockers reduce the incidence of sudden death in myocardial infarction and also indicate the importance of early adrenergic activity
