中国原子能科学研究院承担由国家计委批准立项,并在国家科委和中国核工业总局支持下开展了生产放射性同位素强流回旋加速器的研制任务.他们在该院孙祖训院长为首的领导小组的指导下,成立了CYCIAE30回旋加速器工程组.于1990年开始在消化吸收从比利时引进技术的基础上,根据我国国情和已有的技术优势,对加速器的主要部件进行了再计算,再设计;在加工制造中,以创优的精神和严谨的作风,实现了各主要部件性能指标都优于国外同类产品的目标.因此在束流总调过程中,利用不到1个月的时间,同位素生产靶上的流强在30MeV能量下达到370μA,达到目前同类加速器中国际先进水平.
