东盟拥有10个成员国,人口5.12亿,总面积约450万平方公里。中国国土面积960万平方公里,人口为13亿。 2001年,东盟国家GDP为5512亿美元,只及我国95933亿元人民币的一半,占世界GDP总量的1.7％。 2002年,东盟国家与中国的贸易额高达547.7亿美元;今年头4个月,中国与东盟国家的贸易额为220,5亿美元,比去年同期增长45,1％。东盟位居日本、美国、欧盟与香港地区之后,是中国第5大贸易伙伴。
ASEAN has 10 member countries with a population of 512 million and a total area of about 4.5 million square kilometers. China has a land area of 9.6 million square kilometers and a population of 1.3 billion. In 2001, the GDP of ASEAN countries was 551.2 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for only half of China’s 9.593.3 billion yuan, accounting for 1.7% of the world’s total GDP. In 2002, the trade volume between ASEAN countries and China was as high as 54.77 billion U.S. dollars. In the first four months of this year, the trade volume between China and ASEAN countries was 22.05 billion U.S. dollars, up 45.1% over the same period of last year. After Japan, the United States, the EU and Hong Kong, ASEAN is China’s fifth largest trading partner.
